Society for Neuroscience
The world’s largest organization of scientists and physicians devoted to understanding the brain and nervous system. Every 3 years this meeting is held in Chicago.
BraiNY Bunch
Society for Neuroscience’s Greater NYC Chapter
BraiNY’s mission is to make brain science accessible to the broader community and promote mentorship and career development for young neuroscientists, mirroring the parent Society for Neuroscience’s goal. Through a collective effort as (neuro)scientists, they engage with communities, both local and global, with the aim to raise awareness of brain science; to provide access to information about how the brain functions, as well as how to take care of one’s own brain and mental health; and to create opportunities to engage with neuroscience research.
Graduate Women in Science
Graduate Women in Science (GWIS) has been empowering women as individuals and as a community since 1921. For almost 100 years they have worked to advance the participation and recognition of women in scientific fields through grants, awards and fellowships.
Black in Neuro
Black in Neuro’s mission is to diversify the neurosciences by building a community that celebrates and empowers Black scholars and professionals in neuroscience-related fields.
Grey Matters - The Undergraduate Neuroscience Journal
Grey Matters is a neuroscience outreach organization founded by students at the University of Washington on the core belief that science education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of educational background. Each quarter, they publish a free, high-quality neuroscience journal that is written, edited, illustrated, and designed entirely by undergraduate students. Grey Matters also hosts An Evening with Neuroscience, an annual event dedicated to fostering an exciting and inclusive space for neuroscience education for the general public, as well as a journal club run by and for undergraduates to improve scientific literacy and communication.
Simply Neuroscience
Simply Neuroscience is an international, student-led organization that empowers students to get involved in the interdisciplinary fields of neuroscience and psychology through education, outreach, and awareness initiatives.
