Francesca Starecheski
Francesca is a senior pursuing a Molecular/Cellular Neuroscience major with a Music minor on the pre-medical track at LUC. She is particularly interested in the unique neurological mechanisms which underly neurodivergence and hopes to contribute to a growing scientific understanding about mental health and learning disorders, both through research and as a physician.
Music for Francesca is an affection equivalent and not entirely separate from her scientific passions. As a bass clarinetist and alto saxophone player throughout middle and high school, and as a current soprano in the Loyola University Singers ensemble, she feels that music can be just as rigorous, systematic, and enlightening as STEM. Though she does not intend to pursue it as a career, she hopes music will never vanish from its precedence in her life.
In her free time, Francesca takes pleasure in "grandmotherly" activities, such as baking sweet treats, knitting cozy accessories, taking long walks in nature, and caring for her beloved cats, Gidget and Kiwi.
