Dawnbe Yu

Dawnbe is a junior at Loyola University Chicago, double majoring in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychology. Her passion for science was sparked in high school after taking AP Psychology and Anatomy and Physiology. During that time, she also discovered a deep interest in adolescent well-being through founding the Mental Health Awareness Club. This shaped her current research interests in psychopathology and emotional behaviors. Dawnbe aims to pursue a Ph.D. and find a career in research and/or academia.

Outside of the MNEME lab, she is actively involved in Students for Reproductive Justice and serves as an author for the Program for Neuroscience and Society, promoting ethics-based STEM education. She is also a long-time junior golf coach with the First Tee of Tennessee. In her free time, Dawnbe enjoys music, fashion, baking, and hiking. She also has two wiener dogs named Maxi and Hazel!
